Someone declared this year as the year of fireflies, which made me realize that the last time I saw these glowing insects in real life was 13 years ago. The first sources I found on the subject confirmed that fireflies are disappearing and may soon be extinct. At the same time, these sources revealed how to find them, which piqued my interest.
